Growing up in a city, people who always moving. The story was that their parents were taking them to the suburbs because inner city schools weren’t safe, but because no every heard from them again, we never really knew what happened to them. Thanks to the magic of facebook I know these people are alive and well, and attended suburban high schools.
My mom really loves facebook. She has a smart phone and is logged onto facebook all the time. She gets annoyed when people call; because the phone is just for facebook and the occasional music listen. One of her favorite facebook activities is to closely read my cousins profile, then tattle to my aunt (who doesn’t like to go on facebook)
Stuff that facebook is good for
1) Founding out those kids who ‘moved away’ growing up are alive and well.
2) Found out who is gay. Is competition to see where more people turned out to be gay: 4th grade karaoke party or synagogue youth group
3) Keeping up with my pals in Costa Rica (one of the newest first world counties)
4) Getting invited and hearing about cool events
5) Keeping up with people you wouldn’t other keep in touch with
